Reggie, I have done this with with 13MWZs and 936 DEN (the "slim fit" version of the same jean). Used to wear Wranglers all the time. Effect is similar--they do draw up a little, although not as much as Levis. I got totally soaking wet (by accident) and had to keep them on all day. The length pulled up a little, and the waist drew in only slightly. The size stayed the same more than my Levis do. Most guys like to wear Wranglers "stacked" or several inches too long and piled a little over the boots. That way, when one is seated or in a saddle they don't look stupid and dorky--with high-wader jeans pulled up their legs like a pair of cheap polyester slacks. Wrangelrs wear like iron, they shrink good, look good, and I have nothing to say against Zs--it's just that I'm more comfortable cruising in my 501's.

Rockabilly? I guess that's what I am too! See I hate short jeans--my newest pair of 501s is 32X38 (used to be 34 x 36 but I lost a lot of weight this last year) and I wear them raw with a cuff.

After the first soak, the cuff gets a little smaller as the leg shrinks and it begins to stack somewhat. I don't wash them much at all, but over time they soften, and the look works--that is, when I wear these 501s I ALWAYS get what Im after.

I was wondering if you knew the weight in oz on the levi's 510 canvas trousers. It's the super skinny. I am referring to. I just want to know the weight or the thickness of the material. Thanks

That's what I did ones with my favorite Wrangler jeans back in 80's:
I washed 'em, iron 'em and nicely folded. Sprayed with gold spay paint and placed in the deep presentation picture frame under the glass on the deep red velvet background. Then I hanged it on my wall .. It looked like descent tribute to my favorites that I spent years of my life in..

I would get them 1" smaller on waist and maybe 1" on the inseam. The 501s already have a particular cut. If you want your jeans to be baggier, you should look at some of the other Levis.

Charlie, if you want them to fit a bit loose in the waist, go for one size up in the waist. Keep in mind that if when they shrink, they'll stretch out (in time) to about an inch. The 501 model isn't a skinny fit from Levis, so you won't have the skinny look no matter what.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I want to shrink my STF's not the orginal fits. Also is there a way to buy a natural size STF and prevent it from shrinking when washed?

Question to ned and anyone else who has advise: I'm a natural 30x32 when it comes to buying 501's original fit (basically the ones that dont say they will shrink). Im not sure if I should buy 31x34 or 32x34's so that I can wash them in my bathtub or washing machine in cold and let them air dry and shrink them down to 30x32. I do like my jeans to have a bit of a baggy rigid look to them but at the sametime a nice fit so that i dont look like im in a big potato sack. Any suggestions???
